Jeep Wrangler stars at “Wrooom 2011” in Madonna di Campiglio

An evocative photo shoot took place today at high altitude, starring the brand new Jeep Wrangler from the 2011 range as well as Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, the racing drivers from the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. The shoot is one of the many initiatives of "Wrooom 2011 – F1 & MotoGP Press Ski Meeting", the prestigious event organised in Madonna di Campiglio (Trento) in which Fiat Group Automobiles is participating as Sponsor and Official Car.

The Jeep Wrangler vehicle photographed is in the Rubicon trim level and equipped with the new 2.8 litre turbodiesel common-rail Euro 5 engine with DPF as standard. The new 2.8 delivers 200 HP at 3600 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 2000-3200 rpm on models with manual six-speed gearbox and 460 Nm at 1600-2600 rpm when combined with the new five-speed automatic gearbox.

Presented as a national preview at the recent Bologna Motor Show, the 2011 range of the iconic Jeep has an extra feature added to its extraordinary off-road capabilities, the point of reference in the segment: the refined functionality of the new 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine complete with Stop/Start technology, totally renovated interiors, enhanced comfort and reduced noise thanks to interventions on the gearbox and sound insulation, and a body-coloured hard top on the Sahara version.

With about 70 years of history behind it, the Jeep Wrangler is the legend that gave birth to off-road driving, to become an archetype of the automotive industry. A direct descendent of the original Willys MB of 1941, the Jeep Wrangler is the original and authentic 4x4 and expresses the nonconformist soul of the American brand by combining exceptional off-road capabilities with the driving enjoyment offered by a toy car that is one of a kind.

Today the new Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited range more than ever before expresses the two souls that have always coexisted within the American brand: the purely off-road soul of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the genuine technological manifesto of off-road driving, and the soul closer to the SUV set-up and therefore better equipped for greater comfort on the road, the Sahara version.

In Italy, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler range is available in the Sport, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels with new, more stylish and comfortable interiors and the 2.8-litre Euro 5 common rail turbo diesel engine with DPF fitted as standard, teamed with a manual six-speed gearbox or the new five-speed automatic gearbox. The four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is sold in the Sahara and Rubicon trim levels, equipped with the new 2.8-litre engine and modernised interiors. The 3.8-litre Euro 5 V6 petrol engine version is available exclusively on the Rubicon version of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
